This is an on-going piece of work with Lafarge UK, which is part of the Lafarge Group - the world leader in building materials. Currently our work is UK-based within their Cement Division and covers a range of management levels, working with managers who are seen as future potential senior leaders.
The Programme, which is called “Developing Leaders for Tomorrow” has three core objectives:
To provide participants with information that enables them to build Personal Development Plans for future success in their current role.
-
To provide professional guidance that will help participants to make decisions about their future career direction and prepare for these opportunities when they arise.
We have worked in close partnership with the client in developing this project around four key principles:
-
Focus on Development not Assessment
-
Self-Directed Development
-
Measurability – both in Personal and Business Development terms.
It draws on all of Wadenhoe’s expertise in defining current and future leadership priorities, creating conversations around leadership capabilities and describing leadership behaviours in practical terms for personal and business development.
Up to the time of writing, 40 managers have been involved, and the excellent feedback has led to further programmes being planned within the Cement Division. As a result of this success, opportunities are currently being explored to work with other Divisions of the Organisation.
Other “spin-offs” have been the development and delivery of workshops for small management groups, focused on specific leadership topics including: Strategic Thinking, Implementing Change, Facilitation and Performance Coaching.
