“Leaders – Are they Born or Developed?”

“Leadership Talent Spotting & Development”

It is superficially easy to adopt leadership frameworks that have worked well for other businesses and assume that they will transfer into your organisation. It is even easier to read about “flavour-of-the-month” critical leadership qualities and assume that they are appropriate for your business.

Leadership needs to be aligned with current and future strategic/operational requirements for individual businesses and their values/culture. It also needs to reflect the progression in leadership capabilities required as people move through different organisational levels.

Yes, it is possible to identify raw leadership potential, but this must be anchored in thorough understanding of the Organisational context in which that potential needs to operate.

THE WADENHOE WAY

From our research and practical experience, we have developed a framework of Mission, Values, Organisation and Marketplace dimensions that enable us to work with Organisations in defining a Leadership Model that is right for them in the context of their strategy.

This framework then extends into a range of Key Performance Areas and Core Qualities, used to translate the Leadership Model into Leadership Profiles at various levels. It is these profiles that answer “potential for what?” questions when we start to identify future leaders.

THE BENEFITS FOR YOUR ORGANISATION

  • You will know what effective leadership looks like in your Organisation.

  • Your Organisation will develop a consistent Leadership Style.

  • You will have reliable and respected processes for identifying leadership potential.

  • Your leaders at every level will know what is required of them and be in a position to take the initiative in managing their own development.

  • You will have the information needed to design effective leadership development processes and build “talent”.
